RBS WorldPay honoured with prestigious Queen's Award
Bank awarded a second time for excellence in International Trade
RBS has today been honoured with the Queen's Award for Enterprise in International Trade for its international merchant services business which provides payment solution services to enable worldwide retailers and service providers to accept card and electronic payments both on and offline.
The Queen's Award looks to recognise and reward the outstanding achievement of UK companies and this is the second time this prestigious honour has been awarded to the Bank.
The awards honour business excellence in the three categories of International Trade, Innovation and Sustainable Development. RBS international merchant services business has won the award for the developments and growth it has made in international trade.
Over the last three years, RBS has developed its international merchant operations increasing its workforce in the UK, Netherlands, Germany, Singapore and Canada. This has enabled the Bank to build local language links to benefit customer trade and operation.
Strategic partnerships with financial institutions worldwide such as the ANZ Banking Group (Australia), has helped grow business markets in new countries. The business has additionally launched ‘point of sale' services in Germany.
In addition to growing the scale of its international business, the RBS international merchant services business has continued to bring innovative products to the market so that in addition to its acquiring services, it can now offer customers services, such as specialist risk management tools and foreign exchange, that enable retailers to trade profitably and more securely across the globe.
