Broadband Payment Terminals: Pricing

You may not have any external set up costs if you already have a broadband connection and router, and your configuration meets the minimum requirements.

If you use Verifone x670, Verifone Vx810 or Gemalto X8 terminals, you can upgrade them to accept a broadband connection yourself - simply call our helpdesk on 0845 7 61 62 63.  In all other circumstances, there are likely to be set up costs.

Set up costs - terminal installation 

Please make sure your router and other equipment meets the minimum specification minimum requirements before the engineer visits. If it doesn't, you will still have to pay for the engineer's time.

Set up costs - Terminal authentication 

To offer enhanced levels of security, we encrypt the link between ourselves and your Broadband card payment terminal. We also authenticate the terminal itself before any data can be exchanged. This is carried out using a Pre-Shared Key, which is securely downloaded to your Broadband card payment terminal at the point of installation. The cost for installing this key is £25 for each terminal.

Ongoing costs - broadband card payment terminal rental 

The monthly rental for broadband terminals is the same as for our standard dial-up terminals.

Ongoing costs - IP gateway fee 

Before any data can be passed from the Broadband card payment terminal, the device is authenticated using the pre-shared key. This authentication relies on the administration of the key being up to date. The IP gateway fee is £4 per month for each Broadband card payment terminal and covers the cost of maintenance and registry of these individual keys.
