We strongly recommend that you use the Address Verification System (AVS) as an additional fraud measure when taking CNP transactions. AVS allows you to check the numerical portion of a cardholder's address and the card security code (also known as CVC/CVV) either on your terminal or when calling for CNP authorisation.
It is a free service and is also a quick and easy facility to use that will not slow down your terminal authorisation process and will increase your chances of avoiding fraud.

When you have a CNP transaction ask the customer to give you the address details as shown on their card statement and the last 3 digits on the signature strip on the back of the card.
Terminal users – if you rent your terminal from streamline, this facility should already be available. If you do not rent from us, you should contact your own terminal supplier
